Monroe Bay Oysterette was born from a simple idea — bring the freshest Virginia oysters and chef-driven seafood to downtown Haymarket. Located at 15111 Washington Street in the heart of Old Town Haymarket, we wanted to create a place where the food speaks for itself and every guest feels like a regular.
Our cozy and stylish interior and patio seating provides the perfect atmosphere for date night, a casual dinner with friends, or a weeknight happy hour. We are a small restaurant — 5 guests max — because we believe great dining happens in intimate settings where quality and craft come first.
Whether you're coming from Gainesville, Bristow, Manassas, or anywhere in Prince William County, we're worth the drive. Our raw bar features oysters sourced daily from Virginia's Eastern Shore, the Atlantic, and the Pacific Northwest — alongside jumbo lump crabcakes, lobster rolls, and seasonal specials you won't find anywhere else in Northern Virginia.
We like to set the vibe. Cold oysters, perfect cocktails, and nobody's in a rush.
The Owner

Jason grew up on the Virginia coast with a deep love for the water and everything that comes out of it. After years in the restaurant industry — from shucking oysters at raw bars to running kitchens across Northern Virginia — he decided it was time to build something of his own. Monroe Bay Oysterette is the result: a place where serious seafood meets a laid-back neighborhood vibe.
Every dish on the menu reflects Jason's hands-on approach. He sources oysters daily from Virginia, the Atlantic, and Washington State — building relationships with fishermen on both coasts and running a kitchen where quality is non-negotiable. The crabcakes are all jumbo lump — no filler. The lobster rolls are loaded. The happy hour is real.
